Phil's Sweet Pomegranate
Prunica granatum
This variety is much sweeter than the store bought "Wonderful" variety. Medium to large fruit, skin slightly pink; seeds have a high sugar content with slight acid overtones. Seeds are soft and hardly noticeable. Shrub is productive. Flowers are orange-red. Space 8'-10' circle. Hardy to 6 degrees F. Plant out of the wind in zone 7, perhaps near a building on the south or east side. Zones 7-10.
